Words to live and write by…

I am SUCH a bad book reviewer! I have been swamped with last minute assignments for school, but good news is…I graduate in less than a week! So frakkin excited.

But on to more important news, like what am I reading?!

I’m still finishing True Love Story by Willow Aster. I hope to be done tonight or tomorrow.

And I’m also starting a new ARC kindly provided to me by Netgalley.
Come Undone by Jessica Hawkins.
I cannot wait!

OMG OMG OMG!!! This book BLEW my socks off…and my shirt… and my pants…

There really aren’t enough words in the English language to describe how unbelievably sexy this book was.

Please allow me to introduce you to William Maddox Lambourne and Catherine “Cat” Kelly. They are both gorgeous in their own right but William…Oh EM GEE!

“That face-those eyes. He had dark brown hair, wavy and thick and tousled. It was sexy hair. The kind of hair a man sports after he’s been rolling around in bed.”

I am picturing Chris Pine here, mostly for his strikingly sexy blue grey eyes MEOW

william

Cat was smokin hot as well!

cat

Cat is a photographer that is going through a tough time in her life after to loss of her first husband Jace.

William is a billionaire food aficionado and is obsessed with getting Cat into his bed…and into his heart.

I have heard people say that this book is like 50 Shades of Grey but it is OH SO MUCH MORE! There is a lot of character development and it really makes William and Cat more relatable. I loved the relationship between Cat and her best friend Beckett…reminded me of my friendship with my best guy friend.

The scene with Cat, William and the pain au chocolat will go down in infamy as the number one fantasy that will keep recurring in my dreams…

addiction

And I shall never look at a kitchen floor the same way again!ladiesaroused

There are so many parts of this story I loved, EVEN the cliffhanger ending (I cannot wait for the next book in the series!)

Some of my favs:

“What kind of burglar turned on the lights and cooked dinner? Dropping my bags at the door, I walked and arrowed for the kitchen. I stepped inside and halted because he was there.”

whatsgoingon

“‘That’s the last time you’ll open your mouth to another man’, he said, his voice husky and seductive. I couldn’t stop the tremor of pleasure that raced through me at his sey tone. ‘From now on, I’m the only man that feeds you.’ My skin where his breath touched it fired in response, and I squirmed in my seat. His closeness and his voice turned me on, but I didn’t appreciate his warning. Who the hell did he think he was? Did other women tolerate this sort of behavior?”

alphaalphamale

“I lifted the gift from the box and stood, allowing the floor-length silk dress to cascade to the floor. “Oh, Beckett.” I sighed. No one had ever given me surprise gifts, and no one had ever given me something like this”

dress

“‘Every girl, and some guys, I know would love to be in your shoes. Youre Julia-fucking-Roberts in Pretty Woman. But prettier, of course. You are William Maddox Lambourne’s girlfriend.’ Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The comparison resonated. And the real question remained-was I the princess or the whore?”

pretty woman

This book was seriously sexy, deliciously hot and over-the-top AH-MAZING!

Highly recommended for my fans of erotic romance!

5 out out 5 stars!!!

notquite

This is the first book in the Not Quite Series.

Jessica “Jessie” Mann is a waitress and single mother to an adorable little boy named Danny. She is struggling to make ends meet and wants to provide a secure life for Danny. She is determined to find a man with money…

devilprada

Jack Morrison is the son of a hotel tycoon and is tired of meeting women who are only after his fame and fortune.

be-gone

It seems fate has plans for Jack and Jessie.

heelkick

When they first meet Jessie thinks Jack is nothing more than a carefree dreamer. Exactly the kind of man she shouldnt be attracted to; a man like that can’t provide the kind of life Jessie wants for her son. Jack is in no hurry to spill his secret wealth either.

life-goes-on-lebowski

Both Jessie and Jack are forced to question what each other really wants in love and in life and together they end up finding more than they bargained for. In love, you can’t buy affections and you can’t hide from fate. Sometimes destiny has a way with making sure we get out of our own heads and find our path to true happiness.

perfection

This book was a very fast read and I honestly adored it. Jack is the cowboy we all dream about, with enough money to provide a comfortable life.

JUSTIFIED: Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens. CR: Frank Ockenfels III / FX

                                                    (I just love Timothy Olyphant!)

Where do I sign up?!

youtogo

Jessie is hardworking and loves her son to the point that she is willing to sacrifice love for money. She is giving and funny and beautiful.

loveher

However, the course of true love will not be easy. There are ups and downs in the story and oh-so-many times when I clutched my chest thinking, this is too freakin cute!

magical

This book has a happy ending and I honestly cannot wait for the next installment to read about Jacks sister.

One of my favorite parts of the book:

Jack was too much of a gentleman, too nice a guy. He respected her wishes even if he didn’t believe in them. The man of the hour stepped closer to her, took his finger, and lifted her chin so they looked at each other. “We are friends, Jessie.” “Really, Jack. That’s what we are…friends?” “Of course.” “Just friends. Are you saying that if I took my clothes off right now and offered myself to you, you wouldn’t take me up on it?” The words first widened Jack’s eyes. A hot current of need flashed on his face; the effect shot molten heat straight to her core. Then those sparkling gray eyes narrowed. “I’m not a saint, Jessie, and you know how I feel about you.” His husky voiced confirmed what his expression had already said. “Friends don’t sleep with friends.” Her words were weak. “Say the word, and I’ll turn this friendship into a relationship faster than a rattlesnake can strike his prey.” He would, she knew he would. The fire in his gaze said more than any of his words could. “To what end, Jack?” Jessie pulled away from him, felt tears sting her eyes.

eatpain

I highly recommend this book and I am anxiously awaiting the second installment!

heartsindarkness

Holy hell… I LOVE THIS BOOK! I felt the need to get that out-of-the-way right in the beginning.

hearts

This book is a short 232-page read but OMG is it filled with all kinds of sexy…

holycrap

Makenna James, accountant, is having a downright horrible day…and things are about to get even worse.

Caden Grayson is completely terrified of dark and confined spaces.

Makenna, getting ready to leave her office for the day, makes her way to the elevator. She is extremely distracted and stumbles into the elevator. She catches a glimpse of a dragon tattoo on the hand of the man who catches her…

JUST AS THE LIGHTS GO OUT

lights out

Caden and Makenna are forced to fight the fear of being in the dark confined space. They must talk to one another in order to stay calm because neither one of them knows how long they will be in this elevator.

lovedarkness

So what happens when you’re stuck in the dark and only have your instincts to go on? What happens when you take physical attraction out of the equation? Caden and Makenna end up finding out more than just what they have in common. They find a passion, they find each others hearts…in darkness.

seewhatyoudid

This book was fantastic!  I loved every single second of it!

The fact that Makenna was forced to think about what it means to be attracted to someone was brilliant. I have often found myself attracted to certain people in terms of personality, but yet the physical attraction just wasnt there.

That’s why this story is so fantastic. Laura Kaye takes that part out of the mix.

Luckily for Makenna, Caden is plenty sexy. Tattoos and piercing…

YES PLEASE!!!

tattoo

Some of my favorites from the book:

“Tell me, Red, you gotta say it out loud. I can’t see your face or your eyes, and I don’t want to make any mistakes here.”

dirty

“He crowded right up into her space, pressed his body against hers—trapping her against the glass of the door behind her, plunged his hands into her hair until he was cupping the nape of her neck, and devoured her lips with his.”

elvis_champagne

I highly recommend this short but sweet, sexy yet sensual, all-around good time novella to my ladies that are fans of romance.

5 out of 5 stars, as if you had to ask!

This is a review for book one of the Crossfire Series.

bared

Meet Eva and Gideon, or as I like to call them “Christian Grey and Ana Steele-Part Two). For those of you that don’t know what in the hell I am talking about, read my review for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY!!!!

For all of the fans of the Fifty Shades series, this is the book for you. There is a commonly known fact about the world of horror movies; they usually follow the same kind of script when it comes to developing content. It seems that this trend is now carrying over into the world o’ books.

The Recipe for an Erotic Romance by Nikki B

  1. Take one submissive woman, preferably with emotional trauma in her past
  2. Insert one devastatingly handsome billionaire, preferably with his own helicopter, plane or limo
  3. Add a heavy cup of BDSM
  4. Sprinkle in some insecurities and emotional baggage
  5. Mix well with sexual innuendo
  6. Finally, top off with true love

Sylvia Day, in my opinion, is a much better writer than E.L. James. The editing in the book is MUCH better and we’re not forced to read about anyones “inner goddess” (I swear to God, if I see that term again, I will spontaneously combust).

Eva is a 24-year old woman with a history of childhood sexual abuse. Gideon Cross is a billionaire and also a survivor.

Together, they will learn what is means to let go and let love. They must learn how to not only heal themselves but learn how to heal together.

I really enjoyed this book…like REALLY enjoyed it!

Gideon Cross is über hot…

“I had never seen hair that purely black.  It was glossy and slightly long, the ends drifting over his collar.  That sexy length was the crowning touch of bad boy hotness over the successful businessman, like whipped cream topping on a hot fudge brownie sundae.  As my mother would say, only rogues and raiders had hair like that.”

I’m picturing something like this….

gideon

Eva…let me be perfectly honest…I LOVE her!  She gives me butterflies, possibly because I pictured Candice Accola the entire time

 candice
They don’t get much cuter than this, do they?!  Ok, I need to move on now or else I’m going to start drooling…
so-hot
Gideon and Eva are attracted to each other from their first meeting. They both want each other and must battle their own demons and the demons in each other in order to build a relationship. It is a beautiful story of love built from mutual tragedy. I can’t say enough good things about this book so let me just leave you with this…
Some of my very favorite lines from the book:
“He was the kind of guy that made a woman want to rip his shirt open and watch the buttons scatter along with her inhibitions.”
rip
“You forget who submits, Eva,” he said gruffly. “I’ve given up control for you. I’ve bent and adjusted for you. I’ll do anything to keep you and make you happy. But I can’t be tamed or topped. Don’t mistake indulgence for weakness.”
scared-and-horny
“I love you, Gideon.”
“God.” He looked at me with something that resembled disgust. Whether it was directed at me or himself, I didn’t know. “How can you say that?”
“Because it’s the truth.”
“You just see this”—he gestured at himself with a wave of his hand. “You’re not seeing the fucked-up, broken mess inside.”
I inhaled sharply. “You can say that to me? When you know I’m fucked up and broken, too?”
too-much
“I’ve told you before,” he said huskily. “I’ll take you however I can get you.”
“Whatever. Don’t think I don’t know you’re topping from the bottom.”
His mouth curved with unapologetic amusement.”
oops-pants-off
Do yourself a favor, take a break, relax, grab a glass of wine and enjoy this book. It is hot, it is funny, it is just what you need right now!
I give this a 5 out of 5 stars!
On and ps…the series just got picked up for TV :))))))) I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it! I’m totally fangirling out!
fangirling

marriage

Alexa McKenzie, a woman after my own heart… An owner of a bookstore and desperate to save her family home…

Nicholas Ryan, a billionaire on the verge of inheriting his father’s corporation…

The only catch is, in order for Nick to inherit the company, he must be married; and Nick doesnt believe in marriage.

Alexa needs money and Nick needs a wife. What are a girl and boy supposed to do?!

Luckily for both Alexa and Nick, they are old childhood friends and decide that they will get married and solve both of their problems once and for all. The deal states, no sex…no entanglements.

WTF?!

what-no

So anyways…moving on…

I anticipated that this book would be cliché from beginning to end; that the story would jump from page one to hot and heavy on page two… BUTTTTTT

I hate to say it, it was kind of slow for me. I ended up spending most of the book looking like this

bored

but THEN, something exciting happened…

oh-boy

Oh wait…nevermind.  Jennifer Probst has a talent for building up to that moment when they would finally realize they love each other, and then pulling the rug out from under you. Leaves you wanting and sexually frustrated!

arousal

This happens a few times. Nick and Ryan are just about to hook up and something else happens to interrupt them!

For the LOVE!!!  Can’t they just hook up already?!

amen

Then finally, the clouds part, the sun rises, and all of my prayers are answered… Nick and Alexa realize how much they mean to each other

yippie

The book ends on an odd note, with more of the focus on Nick’s sister and another character from the story, but it was meant to build up to a second installment in this series. I haven’t yet read the second book, but its on the list.

This book had me all over the place in terms of emotions. Bored. Happy. Frustrated. Laughing. More Laughing. Smiling.

Some of my favorite quotes:

“Hell, at this rate she’d end up in the mental institution by the end of the year. Cause: Celibacy.”

gosling-disaproves

“I’m tired of females who order a salad, then look as if they deserve a medal. A good meal is a gift.”

pizza

“I suck at it? You’re acting like this is some stupid play you’ve put together for the neighbors. This is real life, and I’m doing the best I can.” “My plays were not stupid. We made a lot of money in admission tickets. I thought Annie was excellent.” He snorted. “You can’t even sing and you cast yourself as Annie.” “You’re still pissed because I wouldn’t let you play Daddy Warbucks.” He plowed ten fingers through his hair and made a noise deep in his throat. “How the hell do you get me on these ridiculous subjects?”

sammy_smiles

“The breath whooshed out of her lungs and she swayed as her feet cut out on her. She expected a precise, controlled kiss to calmly show her mother they were lovers. Instead she got hot testosterone and raw sexual energy. She got warm lips melded over hers. His teeth nipped. His tongue burrowed in- side and plunged in and out with sheer command, bending her back over his arm to take every last drop of her resolve.”

being-bad

Overall, this book started off kind of slow but I am happy that it did. It really built up the excitement and anticipation. There were many parts of the book that had me laughing out loud (particularly the scenes involving the fish and the dogs).

I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

Currently Reading…

This has been one hell of a week for me! I have been busy applying for what feels like at least 100 jobs… I have been putting the final touches on my independent research study and literature review AND doing cryptography work for my IT Security class.

On top of all that, I have been trying to catch up on my reading for fun!

I’m currently reading A Taste of You-Sorcha Grace

sorcha

It’s ridiculously sexy… Like bite my nails and need to take a break, sexy…  Rumor has it that it ends on one hell of a cliffhanger-I need to mentally prepare myself.

The review for that should be coming within the next day or so…

I’m also reading True Love Story-Willow Aster

aster

This book is so realistic and vibrant. It really transports you back to those moments of first love and feeling like it was the end all to end all…

I cant wait to finish it and write the review…I have a feeling it is going to be a good one!

Keep a look out, lots coming in the next few days!

This book had me laughing out loud more than any book I have read in a long long time!

Jane Jameson, not to be confused with adult film star Jenna Jameson, is from the Hollow. A small, sleepy little town in the good ol’ south.

south

She is a librarian with a thirst for useless trivia…and a soon to be thirst for blood. After getting fired from her beloved job as a librarian and then being mistaken for a deer and shot on her way home, Jane awakes to find herself a new addition to the undead of Half Moon Hollow.

shocker

She has a hot and cold relationship with her sire Gabriel–SWOON

meow

And lots of run-ins with the local undead inhabitants… and SOMEBODY is trying to pin vampire murders on dear sweet Jane

what-in-the

This book wasn’t the best book I have ever read but if you are looking for a book to give you a nice little giggle fit, this is a good fit for you!

cute_happy

Some of my FAV quotes:

“I am your sire. I am to guide you through your first days as a vampire. Your first feeding is a rite of passage, a sacrament. It will not be wasted on some hormone-driven frenzy. This is why I wanted you to feed from me.”
“I will not drink it in a house, I will not drink it with a mouse. I will not drink it
here or there, I will not drink it anywhere,” I wheezed, hoping I was able to communicate adequate sarcasm through the crippling belly cramps.
“Did you just quote Green Eggs and Ham?”

-Jane and Gabriel

funny

“A woman puts on a new dress eyeliner lip gloss to please others. A woman paints her toes to please herself. And if there was one thing I was familiar with it was pleasing…There’s no way to finish that sentence without embarrassing myself.”

-Jane

“Note to self: Try to stop reacting to surprises like a cartoon character.”

“Walmart started selling “Vampire Home Defense Kits”, including holy water, crosses, stakes, mallets, and a book of quick blessings to bar vampires from your door. The fact that these kits were generally useless didn’t bother me nearly as much as the idea of holy water being sold at Walmart.”

-Jane

oh-brother

“Wait, Richard Cheney, as in Dick Cheney? You’re a vampire named Dick Cheney? Somehow, that makes you seem more evil.”

-Jane

hehe

Jane Jameson.”
He grinned. “Like the porn star.”
I gaped at him. “What? No, Jane Jameson.”
“Oh, not as fun,” he said, making disappointed clucking noises.”

-Dick Cheney (the vampire)

Overall, I give this 3/5 stars. An enjoyable read but nothing too spectacular
